Rachel Shearer is a sound artist with some three decades of experience. She investigates sound as a medium through a range of sonic practices – sound installations that aim to build a spatial presence based entirely on the vibrations of acoustic forms, composing, recording and performing original sound compositions as well as collaborating as a sound designer/composer for moving image and live performance projects and events. She has received numerous public commissions for sound art and has actively participated in and led a culture of composing and performing experimental music.
