Dr. Dan James (aka Dan Untitled) is an artist and curator based in Wellington. He holds a doctorate in Fine Arts, specialising in mashup performance.

Dan’s eclectic work traverses performance, video, audio, web-based media and robotics. His work has been presented in contexts including Goldsmiths College, the Museum of Modern Art Oxford, Open University of Catalonia, and the 48 Stunden Neukölln Arts Festival.

Dan was a regular DJ on the weekly Messed Up show on Radioactive.fm for three years and he ran the visual crew for the Noir Desir dance parties, known in part for integrating robotics with interactive video projections.

Dan has recently shown the installation artwork DJ3D14 (with anaglyph 3D video and robotics) at Digital Art Live (Auckland), and he has collaborated with the Berlin-based artist Hans Kellett to create The Song Dispensary at the Performance Arcade in Wellington.

His curatorial work has included Museum of Modern Activity (in partnership with RadioActive.fm), and three of the annual Upstage Festivals of multicity networked performance
(as co-curator).
