Gerbrand van Melle:
Gerbrand van Melle started his design career in the early nineties with cooperative group of creative talents called AAP. Major clients included SRON Netherlands Institute for Space Research, Utrecht University, National Museum from Musical Clock to Street Organ and music venue Tivoli. Since 1996 he was involved as a senior lecturer in Typography and Motion Graphics at Utrecht School of the Arts, and from 2008-2010 in Typography at Massey University. In 2013 he joined the Colab team at AUT University.

Works to date:

His research domain is defined by Transmodular Design and Transmedia Narratives. The research engages with digital and physical ontology, sound visualisation, sampling methods, and generative design practice.

 

Stefan Marks:
CoLab-Profiles-18+VRStefan received his Diploma in Microinformatics and his Master in Human-Computer Interaction at the University of Applied Sciences Gelsenkirchen, Germany, and worked in industry as a hardware and software developer for six years. He then decided to pursue the academic life and migrated to New Zealand to work on his PhD in Serious Games. He is now teaching Programming, Electronics, and Virtual Reality in the Bachelor of Creative Technologies degree at Colab, AUT,Auckland. Colab is also the environment where the large diversity of interests and specialisations of Stefan’s work colleagues resulted in collaborative projects
such as PUA or SoundBites, where he was able to apply his software and hardware expertise in an artistic way. Stefan’s other big passion is photography, especially when combined with opportunities of exploring the great New Zealand outdoors.
